Here are some white things from around our house today- flowers growing in pots on our front porch, and Keira's new doll's pram- an antique iron one painted in white. It used to belong to the children of the local undertaker and his wife, who live across the road from us. And then it lived at another neighbour's house for a while, and she passed it on to us. It's a lovely old thing to have parked outside the front door with a toy polar bear or penguin or two perched inside.
I made this place for my earrings to live: it's just a piece of vintage crochet stretched inside a wooden embroidery hoop. Very simple and quick yet also useful! With a loop of ribbon, it would be good to hang up on the wall, too. It was clever Margie's idea first- she wrote about them here. She's written up lots of useful and beautiful patterns and project ideas on her blog, and you can find a long list of them here: 'gifts to make with your own two hands.' I'm also thinking of making a small bowl of felt berries for the Christmas table. even though we'll have real berries by then, hopefully.

Back in February of this year, I took part in the collaborative daily blog, habit.
Molly and Emily, who run the blog, have invited all of the past contributers to join in for the month of December. So I'll be posting over there a few times each week, too. I'm looking forward to looking in on the lives of these other women around the world for a few moments each day.
