Keira is lucky enough to be the flowergirl at her uncle and aunt's wedding next weekend. This is, of course, extremely exciting, and has been the source of many of our discussions this month. I have the task of making her flowergirl dress, so over the past week I made this one as a trial run. (The real dress is to be made from pink taffeta and I'm taking a deep breath before cutting into that tonight.) For this practice version, I used a piece of vintage cotton I found on my shelf and some cream tulle for the underskirts. The pattern is Butterick #3351.
It went straight into the dress-up box and has already been christened with something brown she sat on at the park, some green paint, and chocolate icecream. I think it's quite nice to have fancy dress-up clothes that you don't have to worry about too much.

I am honoured to be a featured crafter on the lovely design blog Wayside Violet. There's an interview with me on there today, plus a giveaway for a feather-embroidered locket. If you'd like to enter, leave a comment on Jessica's post. Thanks, and have a great weekend.
