The colourful quilt above was made from Japanese fabrics and was a birthday gift from my mother today. Thanks so much, Mum! I love the bright colours and kimono silks, and of course the hand-quilting! Wow. I feel a little dizzy when I think about how much work went into it. I don't know if I will ever settle on where to put it in our home, I might just have to move it around every few days.
On account of turning twenty-nine (ack!) but also to celebrate 1000 sales in my etsy shop, I thought a little giveaway was in order. I really want to thank you all for reading this blog, leaving such kind feedback, buying my work- and all the emails, mail, etc. I still can't believe I have been able to 'make things' for my job over the past couple of years. I feel incredibly lucky. So, thank you!!
I was trying to decide what to offer for my giveaway- and couldn't settle on what (wish I could make a quilt for you all- or rather, commission Mum to.) So I thought that I could custom-make something especially for the winner- for example, their favourite plant embroidered on a brooch (like the above chamomile one), or a locket, or a bag or purse made in their favourite fabric. What do you think? If you'd like to be in the draw, just leave a comment on this post. I'll draw a winner on Friday evening or Saturday morning.
Good luck...
