Here is a little Valentine's Day decoration: some linen butterflies for our wall, dreamt up by Keira. I made them by ironing little scraps of linen in half, and then cutting the wing shape with small scissors. They're suspended by pink sewing thread.
I thought it might be nice for Arlo to take a small Valentine's Day present for his teachers at school tomorrow. He really does love them, and I do, too, and suspect that we should tell them more often what a good job they do. So we made these together- 'love biscuits' or, jam drops. I used this recipe, but added about half a cup of extra flour because I found that my first batch spread a lot in the oven. I made one tray with raspberry jam in the centres, and one with apricot jam. This recipe also looks good.
I like to think of these as being Australian in origin, but they could be British. In any case, they are very nice.
