We're starting our Mediterranean holiday this evening. Yesterday my Mum and Dad took the children to Croatia and are currently enjoying some serious sunshine and ice-cream eating. Tom and I will take a longer route (through Italy) before joining them in a few days. So I will say goodbye for a week or so.
Hope you are having a relaxing summer if you're in this hemisphere, or a cosy winter if you're not!
This week I've been working on a few last-minute orders and gifts, which I posted off this morning. It feels satisfying to finish work that has been sitting around on my desk, in various stages of progress. I sent away this black knee-length dress, which was a special order:
(sorry about the terrible photo!)
To make this I used some plain light cotton and lined the bodice in some vintage polka-dot fabric in red. The pattern is New Look 6725, and is the same one I used to make this navy dress a while ago.
I also finished up these items which my friend here in Norway wanted to give to his baby niece and sister. Hope they like them.
And for me, I used some of the great fabric sent from Austria by Martina (thanks again!) to make a couple of little cases for my sewing tools and embroidery threads. I'm hoping to work on a new knitting project and some embroidery during the long journey to Croatia. And I made a little case for our very exciting, yet necessary new purchase, a GPS that we hope will save us from getting lost in Italy. I'm completly useless as a navigator, I'm afraid.
