This week, I found that I had some vintage embroidery to match the botanical life taking place on our street- I think these are lupins. I added these shoes to my shop update today. And real-life lupins are growing outside nearly every house we pass on our walk to school. I didn't know you could eat them- or that they are a pest in NZ- amazing what you can learn on wikipedia!
Being accompanied by wildflowers while driving through Sweden inspired the fabric choice for these bags I also added to the shop. The white, blue and purple print is a thick cotton fabric from the Swedish store Ikea. And the other is some wonderful vintage linen/cotton sent to me by Carol from California.
Lately I've been riding Tom's bike down to the store to buy a few groceries in the evenings. I like bike-riding, but I definitely find it hard to balance my usual cloth shopping bags on the handles while I'm racing along, so I made these with extra-long handles, so they can be worn across the body. It seems to be a much happier arrangement, especially when carrying bottles and tins and things like that.
