I bought this cute linen fabric at the market on Saturday, from a woman named Akemi who makes needle-felted brooches and jewellery, as well as beautiful pottery. (I have been collecting her work for a while. I just can't resist it.) She recenly returned to NZ after a trip to Japan, and so had a few pieces of fabric on her stall this week, too.
Some clumps of grass, and snails in trees. Perfect.
Speaking of Japanese craft, I came across this book in the op-shop the other day. I had been in a bad mood all morning, and it considerably cheered me up, so I had to buy it even though I don't have a dog.
Introducing... 'Fashion For Your Dog.' Full paper patterns and detailed instructions for making all sorts of outfits and accessories for your small dog, even ones you didn't think you needed, such as a special bag to carry your dog in, a special bag for your dog to carry, a wardrobe to hang your dog's clothes, and some beaded jewellery for some extra dog-bling.

A formal dress with a heart motif. 'Pearl and lace make it gorgeous for a special day.'
The Stylish Laced Bustier. 'Unique design for a special day.'
Coat with Fur Collar. 'Looks like a duffle coat. It will make you happy.'
That last one is my personal favourite. It will make you happy, indeed, but will it make your dog happy?
