I made this little embroidery/wall-hanging for a new baby I know. Plant life in a pond is always nice. I used many shades of green and did a bit of free-form stitching. Inspired by both a swampy pond we visited last summer while travelling in Sweden, and an illustration in a wonderful alphabet/writing book we bought for Arlo in Croatia, also last year. So I suppose this little pond has been resting in my mind since last summer.
The illustrations in the child's ABC book are so beautiful, and are by Danica Rusjan. I can't find anything much about her online, except that the company that publishes it in Croatia is this one.
