This is a painting/collage I made this week.
Once, when we were small, my sister and I came across an empty bird's nest in the garden. Upon inspection we could see it was made of twigs, straw, bits of string from haybales, and pieces of our long, blonde hair tightly woven on the inside layers of the nest.
I remember pulling the pieces of hair out of my hairbrush and releasing them out of the window after that, in case there were some birds out there who needed some nest furnishings. And because I seem to be losing a lot of hair at the moment, I find myself wondering whether our local birds can make use of it. I'd like to be part of a collaboration like that.
