a beloved shirt

Here's a little top I made for Keira to go with some new denim shorts my Mum bought her. I tried using shirring elastic for the first time- and was surprised that it worked with no problems! I used the directions given here on the most excellent 'sugar city journal.'

I think the best thing about this wee garment is that I used Tom's all-time favourite work shirt to make it. He has worn this shirt every week for as long as I've known him. It had developed a raggedy appearance around its bottom hem and there were big holes in the elbows. But now its legacy can live on. Goodbye, soft blue shirt.
