:: kitchen view :: this excellent retro tea-towel sent by our friend Anna in Wellington. A bit of kiwiana near the fridge. It even has crocheted edges.
:: garden view :: Tom made a simple swing in the walnut tree. It's the best place to view the progress of the spring shoots.
Is that a Kiwi bird? I thought a kiwi was a fruit. I'm so provincial.

Suzan, it's a fruit, a bird, and a person from New Zealand.
Love the tea towel, M. Your shoes arrived today and they are so tiny and cute! I really don't want to give them away - but I guess I must.

I love the pics of the tree from the swing, really a neat shot. It is nice to see the way you are discovering your new home. Thanks for sharing.

Love the photo of the tree and sky from the swings perspective. Looks like a lovely day. Fab tea towel, and I spy marmite :)

totally unrelated to your lovely post - I love aall three albums on your sidebar. Wuthering Heights is my fav song. I remember when I was eight and the first music video I ever saw was Kate flitting through the forest in her white dress dancing like she had nothing to lose. I knew then there was a whole wide world out there and people who spoke my language. Love it.

I spy Marmite in your Norwegian kitchen. Another nice bit of kiwiana. Was that something you took with you or can you buy it over there?

The swing is great! I can imagine the kids go yipppeeeeee (swinging voices...). Fun that you have that nice garden in the town. Hey is that Marmite on the tray underneath the Kiwi? Ha ha! X

ha! kiwi keeping you company
lovely tree swing though make sure that branch is solid! I had a terrible swing/rotten branch incident as a child which resulted in a head injury. which I do not always like to tell because they often retort "oh that explains a lot"
people. sigh.
but look at all that green.
