three years
Keira turned three today. My Mum wanted me to send her a picture of the birthday girl, but she wasn't in the mood. This was the best I could do.
I made K this little reversible apron and bought her some small wooden baking tools. She helped me stir her cake, and then wore the apron covered in chocolate mixture all day.
And Tom bought these home for her. The day she was born, our friend Suzy came over in the evening with a bunch of freesias and a bowl of fresh cranberries from her garden. They'll forever make me think of Keira, now.

Congratulations big girl! I hope you had a lovely day filled with laughter, playing and cake eating.

I have a girl turning three in April. When did she get so big? I wonder.

What a great day for the birthday girl. It is so nice when your children have birthdays, a good chance to remember them as babies (and the birth experience if it was a good one).
That is one of the many reasons I love flowers. They bring back different memories and the ones that don't have the possibility of being associated with future memories.

Happy Birthday K, what beautiful gifts from your parents! We can relate with "not in the mood"...Isaac turned 3 last week....although some moments are so much fun it makes it all worth it right?!!!
ps. M-we got your parcel the other day, everything was better in person as usual! thanks so much for the tree (birch?) prints as well!

Personally, I think that birthday photo is just the best! And the connection to freesias is a beautiful story... I think of Nicky's birth whenever I see snow-covered roofs from a height, due to the view from my hospital room.

what a sweet little girl, look at her hands climbing up the wall, ha. I hated pictures at that age as well, we have MANY of me sticking out my tongue or lifting up my legs in strange ways. I think of my poor mother and all that expensive film she used up, though these are some of the best pictures in the kimberlee file. it will be the same with your k. be thankful you have a digital camera!
3 years old, what a big girl now. :)
nice flowers too.
