patchwork shoes...

Blue_shoes

I've been playing around with different designs for the baby shoes I make, and last week I made these little patchwork shoes for a friend expecting a baby boy any day now. (I hope it's soon, for her sake!)

A friend of mine in Korea had a baby girl this week, so I made her these to include in a package. This pair was made up of slightly larger squares, so was a bit quicker to piece together. I used cotton prints given to me by Emily. I quite like the patchwork look for these reversible shoes. Not sure if I have the patience to make too many like this though.

I had a feeling last week that talking about the 'mild winter' and all that 'sunny weather' was going to get us into trouble. Over the weekend, we woke up to a fresh coating of snow, much to K and A's joy. They're so happy playing out there. I admire their tolerance of the cold.

Love the shoes! Whenever A wears the ones from you people stop us to comment on them, and they stay on beautifully too.

Your baby shoes are so awesome... I love the patchwork and admire your patience piecing such teeny squares!

I wish I had a baby around so I could pass something that along to them.

I like the patchwork shoes, your friends are sure to be happy with such nice gifts.
I am wondering if you have tried Lefse in Norway yet. My mom is Norwegian and it is a family favorite. Sounds like the kids are adjusting well and enjoying their new home.

I just adore those shoes, you make the most devine baby shoes that always make me feel all maternal!

so cute! they'd make great shoes for adults too :) cx

The patchwork shoes are gorgeous - could you do a quick piecing method, something like strips rotary cut into squares, to make larger pieces of fabric which you then use for the shoes?

What a lovely twist on your already lovely shoes!

Oh those shoes are so precious. Nice to try something different when the mood strikes! Glad the children are enjoying the snow!

looks like someone is missing an eye...

Those shoes are lovely! The snow looks like fun too, although I don't envy you with the cold weather :)

Those shoes are darling!

I love the patchwork shoes, although I can imagine that adding the patchwork takes a bit more time! :)

Great shoes, but I sympathise about the time you must spend on them

The snowman on the right is saying to the other one "can you smell carrots " . ha ha . Sorry I could not resist that.
Tha baby shoes are beauyiful.

Love the snow pictures! What great snowmen! And the patchwork shoes are fantastic!!

And look what came through the mail today? We opened the package while still in bed at 10am - I like to treat myself to a cuddle in bed with Harper after all the night feeds while we snooze through the morning. The shoes are so gorgeous, and I'm chuffed to be one of the first to try out this new design! Thank you so much, you clever shoe-making thing .. K and H xxx
