Landfall

When we walk at the coast
and notice, above the sea,
a single ragged swallow
veering towards the earth-
and blossom-scented breeze,
can we allow ourselves to fail

Happy weekend to you!

Thank you ~ very inspiring ~ hope you have a lovely weekend too!

The gentle shades in your mosaic are beautiful, as is the poem.

Hey melissa! just had a craftwerk today and it was just wonderful. One of our lovely customers told us she reads our blog, then I noticed her little girl was was wearing tinyhappy shoes and she said, yes yes, I got these from melissa!

Hi Melissa

I've been lurking around (sorry) and reading your blog for a while and realised how addicted I was when our computer blew up and left me internet free(??) for a month. So missed seeing what you are up to. Just love the little shoes you make and the pictures on your blog. I too love the vintage embroidery and have made a large quilt with lots on including a piece stitched by my grandfather who was prolific. Am gathing up pieces for my daughter's quilt which will have lots of family embroidery - a heirloom I may keep from her till she's 21! Keep up the great blog. Just love it!

Hi Melissa - I've beeen lurking for a while (sorry!) but realised how much I love your blog when I was off line for a month and really missed visiting. So - thanks for all the great inspiration. I share your obvious love of old embroidery and have made a quilt with a piece of my grandfather's on it. I'm planning a quilt for my daughter with embroidery from lots of her family members - for the 21st if I can keep it away from her. So thanks for the great blog!

hope your weekend was wonderful, sweet m.
thank you for including my photos in the mosaic... i am very flattered!! :)
xoxo

I love that dress/shift you're wearing. Its simplicity is just lovely.
