grey outside, fabric inside

Grey

Bit of a grey day today. Lots of thick clouds hanging around, with that nearly-snowing-but-not-quite feel to them. It just rained all day instead.

So I sewed some coasters. I know they're not the most exciting things, but we really needed them. The tables in this house we're staying in are really lovely- not the kind you'd want to get watermarks on. And there's always a cup of hot tea or coffee sitting around somewhere. These are backed with brown wool flannel. And besides, i had some (more) great fabric to play around with, because a package from Melbourne arrived...

full of Aunty Cookie goodness. Amazing handprinted fabric, cards, badge, a print. Thank you Shannon! I'm feeling warmer already.

Ohhh, such beautiful fabrics and cute coasters! I am impressed by how fast you get things done. I am also considering an international move, it seems like a great way to get packages of lovely fabrics!

Great coasters! They make such nice little bright spots all over the house :)

Most of our winter has been grey like this -but we had the most perfect sunrise on Monday!!

I love all your goodies from Auntie Cookie!! I really must get my hands on some of her fabric someday soon!!

The coasters are also great - they look good on the table!!

I just love these fabrics! They'll brighten up the dreariest day!

Man what a fluke it arrived!! I was abit doubtful when writing that weird ass address!! Glad you like it and go crafty with it so quickly.

Wow - that first photo sure does look gloomy ... fantastic to scroll further down the page and see all your lovely goodies and crafting.

wow fabulous!!! you'll have a right stash soon :)

You're no slouch! They look great and are the perfect antidote to grey.

Great fabric - the coasters look lovely. And yummo on the goodies in the post!

The coasters look great!! I love how you've used a different fabric for each one. The package of Aunty Cookie goodness sure would've brightened up your day...

Sending you sunshine from NZ! I hope you guys are all settling in nicely and the little one's toes aren't to frosty. Has Keira managed to find a way to keep her tutu a staple in her wardrobe even though it's so cold?

Coasters... there's another thing i was going to make... i like the one with the red letters most! well, actually, i like the combination of fabrics.

those fabrics are stunning... and the coasters are perfect! so good to show off the fabric and handy besides :)
