clothes as wall art

Liberty_skirt

Vintage Liberty silk skirt, handmade by Tom's aunt when she was a student. I adore that honesty print.

I have fond memories of my mother's watercolour paintings of honesty. Nice to see it on fabric.

oh, pretty!

i am very fond on displaying clothing as art amidst my large collection of art-art. kiwis think i'm weird, but i have my husband chris' little woolen grey school shorts (pre-30yearold emerging belly) hanging among my photo collection. they're just so novel to me as an american. it still makes me laugh to see gangly 100kg 17 year olds wearing tiny shorts and knee highs.

i also have an antique children's winter kimono jacket (they gather fold over the centre and let it out as the kids grow) complete with snow slush stained bottoms on display.

any readers looking for some cool unusual fabrics should hit the asia gallery in kilbirnie wellington. amazing haunt that has now been discovered by many (drat).

in a clean out this year i cut the logo section/picture/text from all those old ratty t-shirts that mean something to me and hub, but even the sallies wouldnt take. i plan to make a very patchworky kind of quilt or hanging of them... some day!

the color of the blue in your fabric is indeed one my favorites. amazing print!

lovely!cx

The red is lovely with that particular dusky blue.

I adore the print too... looks fab

Oh nice! I love Liberty prints. Unfortuantely, I don't see them very often here in the States. I went to Libertys when i was in London...had a hard time not drooling...:\

such a lovely skirt, perfect for the southern summer.

What a lovely skirt!
