little scarves
I found some soft grey wool flannel in town the other day, so I made it into two little winter scarves. Warm and soft on one side, smooth on the neck-side. I don't think there could be an easier project, really. I think adult versions of these would make good Christmas presents for my friends living in the UK right now.
I had a notice up in my etsy shop for a while saying that I'd be updating it with some new bags tomorrow morning. But I forgot that I was on 'Parent Help' at A's kindergarten. So, Monday morning it will be. (Can I tell you a secret? Sometimes I feel like the worst 'kindy mum' ever! I'm always forgetting about parent help, or forms that have to be filled in, and lately, A's sunhat. I will try and do a good job tomorrow morning.)
As well as working on some orders this week, I've been busy having a clean-out of my sewing room. Which sort of spills over into the rest of the house, really. I have contained a lot of the chaos- packed yarn into suitcases, given away piles of fabric, and put books into storage. The newly-organised room is making me feel a lot happier about Things.
I'm going to try to keep it this way for a little while longer.

Hmmm. Sweet scarfs. Lucky London friends. Today is wet and cold here in Auck, I wish I had one! Oh your work spot looks so tidy... It must be a bit confusing though, soon not your workspot anymore... But, also what a grand thing to come!!!

your scarves are darling! as a teacher i want you to know that every single parent has their moments when it comes to school related duties:) i tell myself all the time not to compare myself to other moms and then i do it over and over again. in moments of doubting working full time, i even compare myself to you:) love your workspace! its amazing what comes out of there!

I am a pretty bad kindy mom too. I think I have missed at least 2 of my scheduled days so far this year. It is hard to keep track of everyone and everything everyday! At least you have your priorities straight...cute scarves and sweet sewing room ;)

Even in the middle of summer, those scarves look so lovely and cosy. I'm definitely going to do these for next winter. Definitely.
(PS - I would definitely beat you for the worst kind Mum ever, and unfortunately have evolved into the worst school Mum too!)

PS - oh and yeah, your sewing room looks very peaceful!

I meant PPS. I think. I wonder if I can string these comments out the whole time Warren is doing the dishes or whether my conscience will get the better of me and I'll go and help?

I think I'll go with stringing out the comments...

thanks for sharing your workspace - the tinyhappy hub! can't wait to show you mine (at somepoint!) from struggling into the kitchen with cutting mat and card paraphanalia last night because N was on the internet - now a room for each!! Everyone needs a sewing spot!Cx

I love to see where people craft. It always fascinates me to peek into peoples lives a little. I love the way your shelves are set up as little altars with all the personal stuff scattered around all the necessary stuff for your work. Take care.

love the scarves!
and that sewing room looks great! you may think it's messy, but how nice that you have a 'real' space for it all! mine is piled on our kitchen table...

I can't imagine having to pack it all away, but you're making an excellent start! And what a gorgeous work-room you have, it's so light and airy.
The scarves would definitely be good for snyone in England - it is absolutely biting here at the moment, and it's set to get very wet (again!) soon!

How nice everything looks! (And what a great calendar, too). I feel like sitting down at your machine and getting creative...it's an inviting space.

The scarves are very nice. I am thinking of quick Christmas gifts, that would be something I would like to try.
I like your studio, nice and organized looking now. It looks like you get a lot of natural light. We can't get too neat when we are creating. At least that is my excuse. Have fun helping out at school.

Great scarves. They look really cozy. Your studio space looks great too. I am dreaming about how to set mine up, and eyeing other people's rooms. I like the colour you chose for the walls, I am not to sure about mine right now...

lovely scarves, and a beautifully organized room! having a good clear-out always makes me feel so much better overall... things seem somehow more manageable when one's space is free of distraction. wish i could say that was the case for me at the moment :)
