a woodland dancer

Forest_set

I made this little foresty set for my niece P for Christmas. She has a very sweet and mischievious spirit, adores nothing more than playing in the big garden that is part of my sister's rural property, and is not unlike a small pixie to look at. So, a forest dancing outfit it was.

The skirt is just a basic one from light brown cotton, with the last of that tree-print linen around the hem. And the hat is the fabulous 'woodland elf hat' from Amy Karol's Bend The Rules. I used a green felted wool sweater, and some wool felt and a button for the applique.

It's such a great pattern. K thinks so too- and don't worry, I have lots more felted wool to use.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Hi there, I think the hat is so cute. I've heard alot about felted wool jumpers on your blog and others and have tried it myself but I'm not sure I'm doing it right and what the end result should be like. Some items seem to work and others not at all. Any tips would be gratefully received.

Great blog by the way, I don't know where you find the time to fit it all in.

Adorable!

Oh - that hat is so cute! And it must feel good to have your Christmas presents ready for wrapping already. That rules-bending book seems to be a real treat.

so pretty, thanks for sharing! and yes, keira NEEDS a hat like that!

What a sweet outfit. I love the hat, it is really cute............Brenda

These are adroable. Your children are so lucky. Mine do not get to wear so cool clothes. Besides I am considering going on a buing strike so I can not even buy cool clothes for them, just hand me downs..

Anyway.. I was thinking fo you because:
#1 I will make your muesli bars. You totally inspired me with that.

#2 I just found out a very good friend of mine is moving to NZ. With her husband, son and she is pregnant. So the NZ population will even out in May :) They are moving from the States.

Take care,

Ozlen

Oh my, such a gorgeous picture of your wee one!

The whole idea of this gift makes me smile! And it makes me want to go out and dance in the forest with my kids. Thanks for sharing!
