by the sea
This is a print by Jen of Swallowfield- 'by the sea'. She so kindly sent me this print as a gift- and I love it. It has a real 'in-an-airplane, over the sea' feel to it... just perfect.
Also in the mail last week was an order I made from Amy for some hand-embroidered hairclips. I commissioned a set for a friend's birthday, but also got this one for K:
The clips are really nicely made, with such sweet, fine stitches.
Hope your weekend was good. Mine was busy- birthday parties, community events and a bit of work squashed in between, and also my last market stall on Saturday morning. How i'll miss that routine! But I am already feeling quite gleeful about trying out some new crafty ideas and making gifts for friends.
And looking out the window sometimes.

I love the hair clips. Thanks so much for my pair. Hope you enjoy the new found freedom from the market.

AWwwwww to the hairclip and the oh-so-grown-up-and-adorable Keira. Sounds like you had a nice weekend! I really can't wait to see what lovely things you make with your new found time! (although looking out the window sounds good too, so take it easy!).
Lovely to talk to you, albeit briefly, the other day. I cannot wait for Dec to see you, and everyone else, properly! xx

Keira is sooooo cute!! Love the print too - it's lovely. Your photos always take me back to Nelson - they always have a distinctly Nelson feel - fresh and full of sea.

Keira is such a pretty thing - definitely enough to make a gal broody! It looks like she's in deep thought, along with her teddy.

That print is beautiful, I went and had a look at some of her other work and was very inspired they look like quilts, wish I could find fabric patterned like that. Thanks again for sharing beautiful things.

Oh Melissa, that photot of Keira and her hairclip makes me wish a little bit that we had a wee girl running around the place with brushed hair and a wraparound dress, instead of Hurricane Sweeney and his gumboots and garden tools.

Glad you and your bear took a moment to look out the window. I adore that little hair clip :)

Love the print! There is something quite japanese fabric/patchwork about it. The hairclip is also lovely - such a simple idea but so pretty! Your little girl looks so cute! Enjoy your new found freedom to create as and when you feel like it!

That print is so stunning! Your a lucky lady! How will you mat and frame it? The mat and frame could really turn this piece into something grand!
