red ric rac
This weekend should be a busy one- I've got a few projects in mind to finish, and some to start- including cutting into this vintage linen - another gift from Tom's parents.
I like these pansies especially- they're so detailed...
Keira is getting incredibly fussy about what she wears these days, it's all about skirts at the moment- so this week I made her a new one. I used an old linen curtain I found in the op-shop that had been hand-dyed a patchy indigo shade, and sewed red ric rac around the hem. The thickness and drape of the linen makes it yet another good 'dancing skirt'...
and, because i'm trying to be a good market-lady, I made a stack for my stall tomorrow.
To finish with, I can't resist posting a couple more pictures from wednesday's book... just because i can't stop looking at them.

What wonderful gifts from your in-laws!

Look at all that lineny goodness! What sort of price do usually pay for those wee embroideds? It's hard to know if things are fairly priced or not! I can imagine that from here on in Keira will only get fussier about what she wears- here's hoping her tastes are aligned with yours!

You never fail to amaze me with the amount of crafting you've done on top of everything else. :)Beautiful linen gift and somehow the pic of Keira tells me her fussiness is heading in the right direction. Love the top, skirt, pants & shoes combi!

Wow cute skirt. I love the way she's rockin' it with those sneakers and leggings. I need to try that look again. It worked for me in the eighties :)
Very pretty linens indeed. I can't wait to see what becomes of them.

Oh my. that picture of Kiera in the skirt is so darn cute. And you *are* a good market lady! You manage to make so many of one thing at a time! I have to learn that skill if I am ever to become a market lady myself.

love the skirts - my daughter is a skirt girl, too - got to start thinking about fall ones! is keira wearing pants or leg warmers under?
and thanks for sharing the book with us - apparently it's not an easy one to find!

how nice that people seem to drop off beautiful fabric for you, its like having your own look out time. I can tell by the way people are generous with you that you must be a very generous person.

oh, so many projects, so little time! but somehow, you come up with finishing so many projects with enough time to spend with your kids and loved ones! it's amazing how much linen is being recycled into lovely projects by you!

What gorgeous photos you take of already gorgeous things!
The skirts are lovely lovely. I am coming on holiday to Nelson in November and I hope to drag my partner to the markets in search of your stall. I hope the Devil Child doesn't grow too much by then so I can buy some of your creations :)
