back to school
It's Monday again and I'm feeling positive about the week ahead- a new term, a fresh start and all that. Tom went back to school early this morning and Arlo has been carrying his kindergarten bag around all day so far, checking that all is in order for his afternoon class- he's missed his friends and teachers.
I finished a small batch of baby shoes to put in my etsy shop... (yes, it WAS hard to cut into that green embroidered linen, but it was torn so i didn't feel too bad.)
I caught up with some orders and other things over the break, but still have a way to go. Somehow, the prospect of walking to the park or sitting down for morning coffee with Tom and friends was more appealing most days. And now I have a brand new distraction. After a lot of dreaming of and longing for a new print-gocco, I finally ordered one from Japan.
To be perfectly honest with you, I'm a bit nervous about getting started, so this box has been waiting patiently for me on my desk for a few days now. I'll let you know how it goes.

How exciting, I've been intrigued by the gocco thing for a while- not sure if I even know exactly what it is!! Look forward to following your journey :)

Can't wait to see what you make with your new gocco. What fun (and yes, I understand the daunting aspect as well!) to have a new toy to play with.

Oooo it looks worth it...the green embroidered shoes are amazing.
And the gocco. I'm so jealous, and I totally understand the being a bit nervous to jump in. But I'm anxious to see what you do...so go for it!

Are the green shoes gone? I don't see them in the shop. Beautiful work!

Sweet! I have had one for about 6 months now and it hasn't been used yet. I doodle a lot, but nothing ever is deemed Gocco worthy. Maybe I'll get mine out and put it to use.
Can't wait to see what you create!

Looks like you're not the only one nervous about getting started with their Gocco: http://soozs.blogspot.com/2007/07/felt-fear-and-did-it-anyway.html

Paper Source just added a similar gocco/print thingy (I'm still ignorant to the gocco world) to their lineup, and they usually have video tutorials. Could be worth checking out. Try www.paper-source.com and see.
HtH!

THe shows are fabulous and congrats on the Gocco! It's the best thing. Once you use it you'll find lots + lots of reasons to make stuff. I have had one for over seven years now.
What size did you get? Did you get the larger one or the standard one?
Anyway, good luck with it! Enjoy.

Your shoes are soooo adorable! My gocco has sat here for over a month now, I really need to get over the fear and my lack of drawing skills.

Your baby shoes look gorgeous - like the sort of thing you would keep as an heirloom. I'm interested to see this gocco thing - I echo the comments above! I hope those instructions are in Japanese and English! Good luck.

Hi! I've been lurking on your site for ages and you've lured me out with the gocco. How long did delivery take? I'm thinking of getting one, too. Can't wait to see what you make with it. :-)

congrats on your gocco. We bought one for the family (doesn't every family need one?) last year, then sold it unused when we felt guilty about not using it. Plus my husband has a large one at work. They are so great, can't wait to see what you do with it.

The new shoes are lovely!
I would love to have a gocco, but am not sure how much I would use it.... I can't wait to see what you make! :)
