my family in cups

Cup1

Tom's. Handmade in our town and irregular, with a dip on one side.

Cup2

Mine. Dark green with tiny raised polka dots. It's small so i can have more cups of coffee without feeling too guilty.

Cup3

Arlo's. He also insists on using it for water when he is painting.

Cup4

Keira's 'bumble cup'. The perfect size for a two year old's hands.

Hope your weekend is the kind that allows time for sitting around the table, drinking tea...

Smaller mugs are nice because your drink doesn't have as much sitting time to get cold. I love the mugs! Nice family portrait of sorts...

Cute. :-) I like looking at how cups tell a little something about their owners.

yep, I'm having to restrain myself from attaching personalities to those cups. I will say though that Arlo's mug is such a very functional, commonsense choice (esoecially as it has multiple uses). He'll go far ;)

don't you just love having non-matching things? i especially love the hand-made pottery. they just have so much personality.

we all have our favorite mugs at home, too. mine is one a friend smuggled out of the mess hall for me when i was in the army. heavy white with the reddish stripe around the top.

just LOVE your blog. I found you while searching google images for "Stencils". What a bonus to find out your from NZ! I lived there for a while.. .love the place and the people. The busybee cup reminds me of my nanny'ing days :)

I love your delightful family of cups :)

love this, I might have to do my own family of cups this week. happy weekend to you!

I love Fullmer's work - have had a great weekend in northland. Take care.

This post of yours is just too ironic! I never thought about it before but we all have preferences for certain cups, glasses, plates, bowls and forks at our house. I never really thought about how much we do this..... loved it!

this post just made me smile. Its funny how telling the little things are

Such a sweet little glimpse into your family!

Great cups! Love the shoes from your previous post too.

isn't funny how the most normal everyday things really show our persnalities! neat post melissa!

excellent mugs! though as a habitual tea drinker, i like a nice big 'un rather than a dainty wee coffee cup. my current fave is a really scary owl mug. must take a pic, it rocks. hope all's well x

so interesting to see your different personalities in the cups. now i am thinking about e's and mine... we are both coffee drinkers! i more often go for the plain mug, solid deep blue or red, or my giant mug from a louisiana coffee shop. e has his map mugs-- finland, indonesia-- and now a new korean one!
